Floor Coating Budget Calculator
Calculate with rates you supply and keep unknown details unknown.
A rough budget is only as useful as its inputs
An assumed garage size or unexplained unit price can make an estimate look more certain than it is. Use measurements and rates you can identify, and keep missing information visible.
Calculate a range from your own numbers
Multiply the floor area by your lower and upper rates, then add one extra amount for excluded costs. The calculator does not supply market prices or automatically change costs based on the selected finish.
Keep control of what the total means
- No forced estimate: unknown area and prices can remain blank.
- Clear provenance: mark supplied area as approximate or measured.
- A reusable project brief: carry the details into an editable review request.
Enter the area, rates, and excluded extras
Before entering a rate
Measure each separate rectangle in feet and add its length × width. For example, a 20 × 20-foot bay and a separate 5 × 10-foot alcove total 450 sq. ft. Keep vertical walls and steps outside that floor measurement. Mark whether your area is approximate or measured.
Check that both rates cover comparable work. Use a single extra amount for costs excluded from those rates. A blank extra amount adds zero; it does not mean every possible cost is included. Read the worked example and calculation method.
No measurement or price yet?
Leave those fields blank and send your planning question. Small or large projects can be described using their actual area. If a number is too large for the field, describe it in the project notes instead.
Rates you want to compare (optional)
Use rates from written proposals for the same scope, or your own assumptions. We do not supply market rates. Floor condition and coating selections do not change the arithmetic.
Budget using your inputs
No budget calculated
Enter area and both rates to calculate. You can send a project request with no budget or measurement. This is arithmetic using your inputs, not a contractor quote.
